Lars Eriksen
The 44 lb carbon-aluminum frame folds for convenient vehicle loading and storage. Its 13-mile range and 180W motor provide dependable performance across hilly roads and regular weekend routes.

Maria Santos
The compact folded dimensions fit conveniently beside an entryway or in a narrow hallway. The removable 12Ah battery supports daily errands, while the carbon-aluminum frame handles uneven city pavement with reduced vibration.

I spent six weeks comparing chairs. The German brand with similar specs — carbon frame, 13-mile range, folding — was €3,200. The French one was €3,600. The Flex Travel?$1,999 (€1,850). Samecarbon-aluminum frame. Same220 lbs capacity. The180W brush motorhandles Kraków's Old Town cobblestones — not silently, the brush motor has a hum — but it never stalls. I did a full loop around the Planty park twice on one charge, about12-13 miles. The44 lbsis manageable alone — I fold it and lean it against the wall in my apartment hallway. My only note: the47.24" turning radiusis wider than some competitors, so tight medieval doorways need a three-point turn. For the price difference, I'll do a three-point turn with a smile.

Ma has been trapped in our HDB flat for two years — the old chair was70-plus poundsand impossible for me to lift into a taxi alone. The Flex Travel changed that. At44 lbsI can lift it into a ComfortDelGro taxi boot by myself — the12Ah battery pops out, dropping another 13 lbs. Ma now goes to hawker centres, the wet market, even Gardens by the Bay. The13-mile rangecovers a full day of weekend outings — we've never run it below 20%. Singapore's humidity is brutal but thecarbon-aluminum framedoesn't sweat or rust like steel would. Folded to30.7"×25.8"×16.9", it tucks behind our bomb shelter door — invisible when guests come. At$1,999, it's cheaper than the mobility scooter rental Ma was spending $200/month on. Paid for itself in less than a year.
FAQ
What makes the Flex Travel different from ZENBON's other electric wheelchairs?
The Flex Travel sits between our entry-level aluminum chairs and our ultralight carbon-fiber flagship. Compared with the Flex Pro ($899) and Flex Aluminum ($999), it is about 31 lbs lighter (44 lbs vs. 75 lbs) thanks to its carbon-aluminum hybrid frame. Compared with the 29 lb AeroLite Carbon Fiber ($2,299), it costs $300 less while remaining much lighter than a standard chair. The FoldX Compact is the same price but prioritizes an ultra-thin 14-inch fold; Flex Travel focuses on everyday lightweight use with a traditional fold and a reliable 180W brush motor. It is the choice for shoppers who want a noticeably lighter chair without moving to ultralight pricing.
How much does it weigh? Can one person lift it into a car?
Total weight is 44.09 lbs (20 kg), about 30 lbs lighter than a standard aluminum chair. Remove the 12Ah lithium battery before lifting; it weighs 13.23 lbs (6 kg) and detaches with one release lever. The frame alone is approximately 31 lbs (14 kg), so most adults and many smaller-framed caregivers can lift it into a car trunk without assistance.
Why carbon-aluminum hybrid? Why not pure carbon fiber or pure aluminum?
The hybrid frame balances weight, durability, and price. Pure aluminum is proven and durable but typically much heavier. Pure carbon fiber can be extremely light but costs more to manufacture. Flex Travel uses carbon-fiber tubes for the main structural load and aluminum joints at folding and locking stress points, delivering a 44 lb chair at $1,999. Carbon fiber also helps absorb road vibration for a smoother ride.
How far can it go on a full charge?
The Flex Travel can travel up to 13 miles (21 km) on flat terrain with a user around 165 lbs. Its removable 12Ah lithium battery typically charges in 6–8 hours and includes a charge indicator. One charge is suitable for most daily errands, park visits, and shopping trips. Actual range varies with user weight, terrain, slope, temperature, and driving style.
Is it comfortable for extended use?
Yes. The carbon-fiber structure naturally absorbs more road vibration than aluminum, while the breathable mesh seat helps reduce heat buildup and distribute pressure. The chair supports up to 220 lbs, and the footrests are height-adjustable for different leg lengths. The backrest is fixed and does not recline; users who need tilt or recline for pressure relief should consider the Flex Elite series.
Does it come assembled? What about warranty and maintenance?
The chair arrives mostly assembled. Attach the joystick controller and footrests using the included manual; setup usually takes 10–15 minutes and requires no special tools. The carbon-aluminum frame will not rust, and routine care consists of wiping the frame with a damp cloth and charging the battery before it drops below 20%. Manufacturing defects are covered according to ZENBON's Warranty Policy, and returns follow the Return & Refund Policy. Contact support first, as many issues can be resolved without returning the chair.
Will it fit in my car trunk?
Folded dimensions are 30.71 × 25.79 × 16.93 inches (78 × 65.5 × 43 cm). It fits in the trunks of most sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs. The folded frame stands upright like a suitcase, and the side-collapse mechanism folds in seconds. At 44 lbs total—or about 31 lbs with the battery removed—it is designed for one-person loading.
Is the 180W brush motor powerful enough? How does it compare to brushless?
Yes. The 180W brush motor is designed for daily use on flat ground, gentle ramps, and moderate inclines, and the lightweight 44 lb frame reduces the load on the motor. Brush motors are proven, reliable, and more affordable, although they produce a slight audible hum. Brushless motors are quieter and somewhat more efficient but cost more. Electromagnetic brakes stop and hold the chair when the joystick is released. For regularly climbing steep hills, consider a higher-powered model.
